Default Overhead Storage Racks in Garage

Was wondering if anyone has a good recommendation for a contractor to install overhead storage racks. I am considering having this done since I seem to have pretty much run out of storage space, plus have to store all the holiday decorations.

I know there is one on the market called saferacks and is 4 x 8.

Any suggestions, or shared experiences would be appreciated.

Default Overhead Storage Racks in Garage

We had two 4 x 4 units in our old garage - can't put much on them due to edge and overhead clearances and it is hard to get stuff on and off.

That's a nifty idea! I wonder if they shopped the concept on Shark Tank.

Please let us know how satisfied you are with your Versalift.

Are your trusses over the garage actually designated "attic trusses" ? If not, be real careful about how much weight you put up there. Also, will the ceiling penetration be fire rated the same or better than the ceiling ?

Haven't done it yet, as we haven't closed on the house. I may build my own version, as I have experience at metal fabrication. My nephew and I will install it ourselves. If you google "garage attic lift" or "garage dumbwaiter" you will see many versions.

That is a pretty cool idea, however, I seem to believe my husband looked up in the attic area above the garage and said it is so full of insulation there isn't much room for anything else. Will have to double check. Still, thinking about those safe racks though!!
