Default Roof Repair

During this past hurricane my roof suffered minimal damage about 8 shingles total. Finding someone to repair it has a challenge.
Total job would bee about an hour max.
I'm no stranger to roofing have repaired many myself .
At my age it's best I stay off a roof.
I've gotten quotes from $600 to $1000 dollars .
I have no problem paying a fair price but this storm is a cash cow for contractors taking advatage of the current situation.
If anyone knows of a reputable handyman that does smaller roof repair It would be greatly appreciated

Curious as to how old your roof is?
My neighbor (20 yo roof) lost about the same amount of shingles and still won't replace his roof
He continues to get away with it but for how long?

BTW life may not be permanent but mine's takin forever

Lost a few ridge shingles here, as well - interested to see the recommendations.

OP, those estimates may not be out of line when you consider that the vendor needs to get to your house, needs to have the correct shingles, needs to setup to get to the damaged area, etc. For example, I had one screen panel repaired 3 or 4 years ago, cost $350, last year I had the entire birdcage rood screens replaced (33 panels) $2500, my point the up front costs were there for both projects but much more obvious on the small project.

3-4 years ago, we had a leak at a ridge vent. Woody's Roofing came out and did the repair and walked the whole roof taking care of minor issues on our 20-year-old roof, $400. Not sure if he is still in business, tel:352-6251417

Might wait several months. Roofers are very busy and a few missing shingles should not be a problem. It is a cash cow time. Was in the insurance adjusting biz. That old economic theory, supply and demand, is prevalent

Default Thomas Roofing

Thomas Roofing (352) 625-7663.
Our son lives in Ocala and lost about that many shingles the last two hurricanes. So it was two different jobs. He charged $400 ea time. Thomas also replaced our roof. Trustworthy, friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommended.

Contact Robert Campos at New Dimension. He examined my roof at no charge. He would be a good person to contact for an estimate. I believe him to be honest and fair. After his inspection he found that I had no missing shingles or popped nails.

I once hired a handyman to do some work and he did a bad job. I didn't realize that I should have hired a plumber instead of a handyman. A plumber would have cost more. It is a looooong story and I I'll keep it short but I ended up paying approximately $900 more than if I had hired a plumber in the first place. I didn't know what I didn't know. For what it's worth that's my 2 cents.

Covenant Roofing has done work for us in the past and I was very happy with their service and work ethic. In case you are interested their phone number is (352) 314-3625.

I had a new roof installed in January 2025 by Will G. with S&W roofing. His pricing was reasonable, workmanship and professionalism is top notch. 352-390-4500 leave a message and he will call back quickly.
