Default FloorMasters...

What's up with FloorMasters in Wildwood? We went there, in person, more than a week ago, and got one call back. Haven't heard from them since, and the phone no longer rings at their place in Wildwood. Sounds like a trip out there again is needed. I'm starting to wonder, if they don't have a phone number that works, should we even be talking to them.

based on our unhappy dealings with this business i cannot recommend them. we'll be considering east coast flooring for our next project.

Default Laminate Flooring

Floormasters was one of four places we checked before going with East Coast Flooring for our laminate project. We felt like it was an inconvenience for Floormasters to answer our flooring questions and their price quote was one of the higher ones. East Coast Flooring gave us a lower quote than the other three places right off without our having to bargain. And that was with the thicker underlayment.

We went with East Coast Flooring. They gave the most attention to questions, selection help, and knowledge of product, and good pricing. Installers are expert, clean, neat, and quick. They are my recommended supplier.

You might want to consider Wildwood Flooring in the strip mall on 301 near the Post Office. They offered the best price and were very easy to deal with.
The father is the owner...one son is the salesperson and the other son is the installer. Couldn't be happier with our experience with them.

Thumbs up Floormaster

We were going to use Floormaster but they kept changing their price. Look at East Coast floors work and it look nice. But went with Georgia Floors Direct in Ocala. Their price was about $2500 less than East Coast for the same floor. We got a Hand Scraped Laminate that most people think is wood flooring.

Oddly enough, I checked three places, Floormasters, Griffis in Ocala and East Coast. Floormasters was waaaaay below the others. East Coast was in the middle but almost as high as Griffis. I chose East Coast because of their reputation on here. They are installing laminate and tile as I write. So far so good. I am very impressed with the tile man, Terry. Yesterday, he spoke to me about a design change after he had started laying and it was the right decision. He pulled up the pieces he had laid and started over. It was clear the time it took to do the job was not as important as doing the job right.

What is the range of prices these installers are quoting per sq ft.

Do you think these companies "size you up" like a used car salesman before they give you as price?

I think they would, most do.
A method they use if they can see you pull up to their store is what type of car you're driving, if it's high end they may bump it it.
Or how well you dress.

From reading the posts here for the last two months I think the residents here are considered easy marks by (many) contractors, retailers & service companies. [I can't believe anyone would pay up front for anything especially a year in advance for lawncare for example]

How on earth can you have a $2500 variation in a flooring quote as posted above, these are small houses with only 400-1000 sq ft to be covered.
There shouldn't be more than perhaps a +-10% variation in a quote.

Maybe when shopping you shouldn't even say you're from TV especially if they ask. (don't drive up in golf cart)
