Default Pool Solar System

Those of you that have Solar to heat your pools, I would like your thoughts and opinions. We have met with 2 companies. Estimates similar as is products used. Does anyone have experience with either Solar Source from Orlando or Solar Trek from Ocala. 2012 we had our original system installed by Jack's Solar, a recommendation made by T& D who built the pool. Since then he has gone out of business due to illness.

Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Are you sure Jack's Solar is out of business? I thought it was taken over by Dereck, who worked with Jack for years. I dealt with them last year.

What is the name of the company that took over?

Derick is Jack’s best friend and he did take over the business after Jack had a health event, but only for a short time. I dealt with Derick last winter when we got a new roof and had them install a new solar system. Shortly after that the business was shut down. I wish I knew the business was going to be closed as I would have considered other options. It’s an excellent system, but now I’m going to have to use a third party and deal with the solar panel company directly if I ever need warranty work done.

We used Fun in the Sun, they had good ratings. Out of Orlando
Dick Brewer was our sales rep. Definitely pushes for the sale so be prepared.

We worked with them on price and have been happy with then system so far. It has been over 2 years. We had a problem and they came out and fixed it to our satisfaction.

We have gas as a supplement and use the two in tandem as we need to keep the pool toasty at the least cost.

We used Solar and More (Ocala) for two reasons; Solar Trek was $1000 more and we thought the panels used by Solar and more would be more efficient. Our previous pool solar was installed by Jack's Solar who used the same system as Solar Trek. That system has individual tubes whereas the system used by Solar and More has no gaps between the tubes.

Both Solar Trek and Solar Source told us that the solar system with individual tube would be better than the solid panel. This system is manufactured in Israel. If there is ever a leak you only have to replace the tube. If the solid panel leaks you have to replace the entire panel. We had Jack’s product for 12 years ( individual tubes) and it never leaked. With Solar and More, What is the warranty for their installation?

Thanks
