Does any anyone know of a local, reputable place that can powder coat car wheels?

I googled and a couple came up in Orlando and this one in Lakeland. Educated guess but I doubt there are any locally as most will probably be near the larger metro areas? The one below allows pictures to be uploaded for online estimates.

I’m curious, why would you want to powder coat your cars rims? I can see doing it to protect steel rims from road salt if you live in snow country, but why in Florida. I’m sure there is a good reason that I just can’t come up with.

Viper powder coating is just off 301 in Wildwood (by Warm Springs Rd). They get good reviews on their google site.

I called Viper about powder coating the wheels on my Jeep. By the time I would have to get the wheels off the vehicle, the tires off the wheels and leave them for days, I decided to just buy wheels in the color I wanted. Much easier.

Sorry to hear that, I know the automotive paint companies make wheel paint that is specifically formulated for use on wheels and to resist the normal wear and tear of wheel use. I had used these a few years ago and they worked very well and cost much less than powder coating.

"Dip Your Car" is a spray on option that can be a good do it yourself option.

Viper Powder Coating is AWESOME! I cannot say enough good things about the owner, Jack Moyer. The phone number is 352-705-2196. He coated my archery bow riser and I was extremely happy. They're on FB.

My wife just bought a new car. It has all black trim but they put polished alloy wheels on it. She feels, and I agree that black wheels would look much better. The dealer wanted over $2,000 for a set of theirs. Thought powder coating would be an option. I’m finding out that powder coating can cost more than buying aftermarket wheels. So that’s where we’re at now. She’s found several wheel patterns that she likes better than the OEM.

As I mentioned before there are specific WHEEL paints that will do what you want. The wheels must be clean, I typically used TRI-Clean when I was doing this type of work or painting cars. You do NOT need to remove the tires, careful prep and masking will keep the paint off the tires. Depending on the manufacturer of wheel paint, you may need a protective clear coat, if so, do not skip this step.

Keep an eye out online like eBay and others as people will often change out wheels and sell the originals online.

Have you looked into the possibility of a set of OEM wheels in the color you want, if from a different make you would have to be very careful about fitment. I bought a new Honda CRV that has black wheels , I would preferer a silver wheel, I have been wondering if perhaps a set of Acura RDX rims might be cheaper considering the time and expense of powder coating what I have .
