We are considering adding a bird cage (about 8 x 14 feet) to our lanai. The contractor would have to take down one of the screen walls of the existing lanai; the 8 x 14 cement slab is already there.
Two questions: 1. About how much should this cost, ballpark? 2. Any thoughts on good contractors we could for an estimate, or for those to avoid? Thanks! |

At our last home we had a birdcage installed that was 460 sq ft. (prices are typically based on sq ft.). This was about 5 years ago, and it cost us a little over $8k. For another $800 we could have had the concrete painted, but we decided not to do that at the time. This works out to $17.40/sq ft.
Yours is only 112 sq ft, so around $2K based on this math. That sounds low to me though - I'm sure there is a certain amount just for showing up (travel, etc), and they have a screen to take down and then clean up paint. I'm guessing it will be around $3K - $4K today. Brian and Terry vinyl are one of the best around. Best prices and great craftsmanship. You do have to wait a long time - they are very busy - but once they start, they finish quick. Mine was done in a week. Stay away from Kilcrease. They did my 2nd one. Took forever, price was high, concrete work was horrible. I didn't want to wait for B&T, and paid the price! |

OP, white Aluminum in Leesburg, 441 does this type of work, ours was done under Kilcrease however 95% of the work was actually done by Joseph Sweeting LLC and they were excellent 352-209-7676.
