We are planning to put an addition onto our home (a room of approximately 275 sq/ft). We have received several bids and now need to decide on a contractor. We'd be most appreciative of any insight you could offer or recommendation you could make regarding your experience. (We have checked each contractor out with Seniors Versus Crime.)

Don't make any decision without contacting Jim Arvanitis of Demetri Homes. They will soon be starting a second addition on our home.

MAKE sure you check with Crimes against Seniors before hiring a contractor. We had a very bad experience with a contractor, Blackburn Brothers, and after we ending up getting taken by him we checked with Crimes Against Seniors found out he had over 15 complaints against him. Many worse than ours.

Hopefully you will call T&D for an estimate, as they do excellent work.

Interested to hear who you have gotten quotes from, as we will also be adding an addition. We have used Xcel Construction, Fruitland Park, for past addition, and they were excellent. We had questions years later and they were quick to respond. They are our first choice based on past experience.
I still would like to get other quotes for quality work, and contractor who is honest and timely.

Ask about insurance and workers compensation if needed. Have a written agreement as to how and when payment is made/

Last payment is AFTER final inspection, and AFTER you have received notification of a release of ALL liens.

Xcel construction is almost finished with my 360sq ft garage addition. They have done beautiful job
