Default Sam's Club Grand Openining.....

January 22, 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally.....we will get a small raise in pay by not having to go to Ocala anymore.
The opening should also inspire some of the higher priced super markets to be more competitive....like Publix who overall charges more for everything.
We'll see...we have been Sam's Club members for years and eagerly look forward to them being around the corner....soon.

Me too Me too-----Moved last year from Va--let my Sam's club card expire as Ocala was just too far to go. LOVE EVERYTHING THERE----from Produce, meats, etc. Since Albertson's closed, haven't been able to afford much in the way of meat or seafood. Really upset us when Publix bought the Albertson's =still think they were just buying out the competition. Hopefully the prices will be as good as I remember.

Although you can't buy the same sorts of things you buy in supermarkets at Sams and some of the quantities are too much...... (Meat has to be repackaged into usable portions for our smaller family) The prices are great and the buyers weld a very heavy pen in getting excellent merchandise that is always an excellent price.

One flaw in TV is the high prices for groceries at Winn Dixie and Publix. I shop at the Super Walmart on 41/27 now. The produce section there is better than the Walmart in West Chester, Ohio by far. I do miss Krogers though.

I'm a huge Sam's Club fan. In California, Sam's and Costco were within 5 miles of each other. I chose the Sam's Club membership. I can't wait for it to open here.

Now, in defense of Publix, Albertson's went bankrupt several years ago. In California, Safeway bought Albertson's and closed about 20% of the stores. The rest they reopened as Safeway. This was 3-5 years ago. Publix bought many of the Albertson's stores in Florida. From what I understand, they negotiated to only buy the stores they were going to refurbish rather than being forced to buy all the Albertson's the way Safeway did. So, at least this time Publix did not buy Albertson's to buy out the competition. The competition was going to leave regardless.
