Default Coating over laminate

Has anyone heard of putting a coating over laminate counter tops to give a granite like appearance. I was looking for a less expensive option than granite. Does anyone locally do this and has anyone done this. Would like your opinions. Thank you.

I had both bathrooms done a year ago and love it. It was a cost saving action since we had just purchased and didn't want the added expense at that time. Held up beautifully and clean nicely. PM me if you want the name of the person that did it. She did quite a few homes here in the Villages.

We used Artie from STTAF to install WilsonArt HD laminate over our existing laminate countertops in the kitchen and both bathrooms. We love it. Many colors and patterns to choose from. Artie was extremely nice to work with and he did a great job. The telephone number for STTAF is 352-245-3280.
