Default Sinkhole protection with American Strategic

From the initial homeowner's purchase back in 1998, I have had American Strategic with The Villages. I was told I HAVE sinkhole protection with a large deductible comparable to the value of my home. Can anyone elaborate on this for me?

We obtained sinkhole coverage as part of our renewal with The Villages Insurance. Unfortunately, the deductible substantially increased from my original policy and first renewal policy for my second renewal. You can check with them and get all the details.

Does anyone have any updated information from any of the agencies on the new availability of regular sinkhole insurance?

According to my new policy laying in front of me effective 9-12-16 from AAA SINKHOLES are covered with a DEDUCTIBLE of $1000. Hurricane coverage cost $405 with a deductible of $5580. Total bill for HOMEOWNERS Ins $1316. I hope this helps Len

Thank you. May I ask if is was through the local AAA office in TV. I prefer to do business in person. -- I am a bricks and mortar dinosaur. (blush)

We are presently with Villages Insurance and have been happy with their customer service. I have not yet asked them if the new coverage will be available from them. I need to find out about that, too.

That yanking of regular sinkhole insurance always looked to me like they threw out the baby with the bath water. Maybe now they have finally come to the realization that there has to be a lot of money to be made by providing reasonable coverage with oversight to prevent the kind of claims that got through on the old go-round.

Boomer Mary and I also like to talk to real people. We went to the local office in front of Belks, they were very nice and answered all our questions.
