Have you had a reputable lawn service company look at your lawn and recommend replacement? The reason I ask is a couple years ago, I had a section of lawn that looked absolutely terrible, so bad I fired the lawn maintenance company and went with a different one. I got an estimate of over $1000 for around 100 or so square feet of sod. I bought 6 or 7 pieces of sod from Lowe's cut each into 4 squares, and planted these "plugs" into the lawn. I then hand watered these for several weeks, and i now have a great looking lawn in this area. It appears the original problem was OVER watering due to a problem with the irrigation control unit. A neighbor had maybe 2000 square feet of sod replaced, and I think he mentioned the cost was around $3000.
My point, please make sure you actually need to have the sod replaced you might be able to save a lot of money with the correct care for the damaged area.

Cottoms, up in Weirsdale. Most landscapers get their sod from them anyway.

Be careful to replace the sod with your current type of sod. A reputable company will be asking you what you currently have.
