Default Sweet Bay Market

Haven't seen or heard much about Sweet Bay since they opened. Any feedback?

We were in The Villages a few weeks ago on a Preview Plan visit and shopped at Sweet Bay. I was expecting to find a nice, but pricey grocery store. We were pleasantly surprised to find a very good selection and reasonable prices (at least compared to home). FWIW, we went back to Sweet Bay rather than travel to Publix when we needed more groceries.

With all the buildup following the announcement that Sweet Bay was coming, I guess I expected too much. I know I was expecting a much more elaborate selection of prepared foods, for which I was seriously disappointed. It's really no great improvement over Publix and Albertsons overall, actually suffering by comparison in some areas. They do have outstanding little white chocolate chip cookies, kinda like Trader Joe's.

I like their produce and their blueberry sausages. They do have good deals on meats when on sale. Other than that, it's a grocery store. Some things are cheaper there (like the bread I like). Some things are a little more expensive. People who like Hannaford's love SweetBay because they do have some of their products.

For the things we tend to buy, we found Sweetbay a little cheaper than publix. They seem to have wonderful meat, and good sale prices. Mainly we like the convenience, since we live near Sumter Landing. I love being able to go in my golf cart, and not fight the crowds at Publix.
