I have given up getting these TV repaired if out of warranty, I replace. When my really nice 3D flat screen failed I tried to get the TV repairman to fix it to no avail. I ended up with a bill for over $100 and a dead TV, so now I replace. The new 75 inch 4k TV replaced the 55 inch ($1550) for around $900.
At the time I did a Google Maps search for TV repair, as i recall the closest was Ocala.
Good luck.

Mary and I went to Best Buy picked out a TV, then went to Amazon and bought one. We paid less, got free shipping and no sales tax. Take advantage of the after Christmas Sales. It was cheaper than a repair.

If you have some round, bright areas then some diffusers have come loose. These are easily fixed - check Youtube for details.

I have a 75" Samsung 4k LED TV that I bought new at Best Buy in 2017. It listed for $2350 and I got it for $1599 on a closeout. After two years, last spring, the TV went black with no power.

I called Best Buy Geek Squad. They said they can come and diagnose the problem for $99 but would not fix it at that time. To return and fix would be another $99 plus the price of the part. They said you get a 1 year Geek Squad membership for $199 and we will cover all your electronics no matter where you bought them for $49 a visit. So I joined Geek Squad for $199.

They came out and looked at the TV and said your power board went out. I was billed $49 for the visit. Exactly five days later they return with the power board and fixed the TV for $49 plus the price of the board which was $180. So total price was $199+$49+$49+$180=$480 to fix the TV. Last spring Best Buy had a brand new 75" TV for $899, if the repair cost was much higher I would of gone that route. On Black Friday a 75" TV was as low as $749, with prices like this, it doesn't pay to repair a large TV anymore. I love the 75" TV size, but many people are happy with a 65" and that is found usually for less than $600.

The TVs are easy to repair for those that have no picture or completely dead. Not sure about the back light but if I found it on your curb I would grab it. I have some dirt poor relatives.

It is the undersized capacitors in the power supply. I would detail how to do it but frankly no one cares. You replace individually not as a board

It costs about 15.00 and takes no special tools other than a five dollar soldering iron.

Good luck.
You’re right replace it, they’re just expensive throw away TV’s. Just like most appliances we have in our homes. To this person that wants her TV fixed, look in the paper, check yellow pages in phone book. You’ll find someone that wants to take lots of money from them. Good luck, take VILLAGETINKERS advice!

I fixed my tv myself after watching youtube. It showed how to unscrew the back, how to order the part and replace it. It was so simple and much cheaper than replacing it.

I called Samsung about a screen defect on a 60 inch TV that was still under warranty about 2 years ago. A few days later, a guy showed up in a van with a new screen and replaced it in about 10 minutes. I was amazed that the only thing inside the TV was a small box inside the back panel and some wires. I also didn't understand why they didn't just replace the entire TV, but it still works fine.
