Thumbs down Today's experience with Lenhart Electric

Had Lenhart come out to give me a quote on installing a 50 amp outlet in my garage. Was quoted $700 and when I called them to schedule the installation -- about 15 minutes after the guy left -- was told by a "supervisor" that the quoted price was wrong and the actual price would be $900!!

Looks like I'll never be dealing with them again. Others on here have given them good reviews but I will never be dealing with them again.

I would have only paid the quoted price of $700.

They seem like an honest company. If they corrected the estimate BEFORE work started, I don't see any issue. Maybe they didn't know you needed a panel or some other extra.

And the $900 estimate still sounds reasonable.

I wouldn’t cry too loud until you get a couple more quotes.

Go to Pikes electric. I opened a thread here a month ago asking for recommendations for adding a 240v outlet in garage for EV on order. Got 3 quotes. Very best was Pikes. Best customer service. Cost was $425 vs other quotes of $700 and $550. The $425 included a 10% discount in Jan. Call Pikes. The best.

did you ask for the reason the price changed? Could be legitimate.

If there was a reason, the customer should have been told before the work was done. It sounds like they just made a wrong quote, in which case, they should have honored their original quote.

Lenhart is the best.

Have used them a number of times.
EVERY time the tech is great.
VERY fair pricing.

Communication gaps are not always the vendor's fault.

They DID correct the quote before the work was even started according to the gripe.

The original post is not clear about whether the quote was changed before or after the work was completed. Maybe the OP can clarify that point? If the quote was changed before the work was done, then the OP could have cancelled the job. Apparently, the quote was changed 15 minutes after the guy left? Left from where? I assumed the OP meant the guy had finished the job and left the OP's house. Very confusing.

123, as I read it......OP called to schedule and was told the new price during the "called to schedule" call.
