Default Electrician, contractor or handy person

Morning All,
I need someone who can move our bedroom cable & electrical outlets up the wall so all wires can be hidden behind the television. Also in need of someone to install bead board under the kitchen bar area...Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a wonderful day...Regards

Alan Byer -- former electrical contractor, good with wood, great with attic stairs; loved by all who have used him (that I know, anyway). You can reach him at 352/205-7504.

Default Home Depot to the Rescue

Instead of the expense of an electrician, etc for hiding my cable and electrical wires for my wall-mounted TV; I purchased a Hide-A-Cable track and painted it the color of the wall. It came out perfectly. It may work for you. You may want to check out Home Depot and/or Lowe's.

Default an honest man...

i would like to give kudos to alan byer for his honesty in a recent transaction for which i had hired him....he pointed out that an old chandelier he was hired to hang had a broken arm and suggested i do not do the job, thereby losing several hours of work which would depend on moving other fixtures...i am grateful that he pointed out this danger and am very happy with the work which he did do...

We used "Bob The Builder" for extensive move in projects after we closed on our new house. Attic stairs, cabinets, shelving, molding, grill assembly, fan installation and he even helped with our landscaping. More then willing to tackle any project big or small. Very reasonable, friendly and he's there when he says he'll be there. 352-552-1275

I have no idea how much electrical work costs. Does Alan Byer charge by the hour, and if so, would someone tell me how much? I have a Florida room in an older home on the historic side where the outlets aren't working; and it isn't a breaker. Thanks in advance for a reply.

bk, give Alan a call. He'll give you an estimate. He's fair and reasonable.

I did, thanks. His very polite wife took a message. He's going to call me tonight after work and when he eats. I was just curious what to expect. Just me, being me and wanting an answer NOW! lol, thanks Red. I told my husband, I don't know you, but I trust your recommendations. Like Jim Followell...well, our lawn guy recommended him, but I know you give him a thumbs-up too for golf carts. He is the best!

BK - we had Alan install the stairs to the attic and as soon as we can get a little more organized, we're going to have him put the TV on the wall up near the ceiling in the MBR and pull out shelves in the kitchen cabinets. He said for the TV, he would put the cable box in the closet up near the ceiling and run an optical cable to control the unit. That way the only thing we will see in the BR will be the TV. His price seemed to be very reasonable to me. Have you seen all that stuff up in the attic that has to be maneuvered around?

We had Alan install some recessed lighting in our kitchen. He gave us a quote beforehand, after looking at the kitchen and attic.

Then, after the work was finished, he charged us LESS than he originally quoted.

He's very quick, clean, and efficient. And, very honest.
