It’s understandable that they are suspending service. I recently used Workman’s after a trip to New England, I was the only passenger on board a 6 passenger Dodge van. I believe I paid $30 for the trip from OIA/MCO, I can’t see how they continue to operate with one passenger and a $30 trip. I did use a private car when I was transported to the airport about a month before so there is private car service available.

Not surprising at all. They were lucky to have any business at all right now

I used Groome one time. They were great!

I have a problem with getting picked up at 6 AM to make an 11 o'clock flight. The shuttle service costs $40 per person. For $100 one-way, I rent a car and leave when I want to. I leave a bit after 8 and get to the airport in plenty of time. OK, I have to pay the tolls and about $5 in gas but it is worth it for the flexibility. When I return, I rent the car and can stop off to eat. Also, I don't have to wait an extra 30-45 minutes while the driver goes all over The Villages dropping people off.

Where can I find private drivers to and back from the airport and what do they charge each way? Thanks in advance for any replies.

The last time I looked, their newer shuttle fleet was parked at the 301/44 corner parking lot. Have not used them, but their price is attractive!!

I used Groome from Cheyenne, WY to Denver Airport. I was pleased and would use them again.

We have had several of our guests use Groome and they were very satisfied with the service. It's great that they bring you right to your residence. No waiting around at a depot for a bus.

Last week I rented a car from Avis one way to Sanford Airport. $34.14 and one gallon of gas (hybrid). I have paid as high as $88. Typically it is about $50.

We tried to book Groome once to go to MCO, hubby had to fly back to work, and he insisted we try this new transportation in TV. I called a taxi driver I knew to ask if there was a problem would they take us? Well at the appointed time Groome did not show up. When I called them they said they had no record of my booking although they had already charged my credit card a couple of days before. So glad I had a back up plan! After 2 months Groome refunded my credit card.

You think you have a problem getting picked up at 6 AM? How about getting picked up at 3:15 AM for an 8 AM flight. I won’t do that again.

Just a thought, not a lawyer.. If you hire a private driver to take you to the airport and you are injured in an accident it seems likely that the driver's insurance company would refuse to cover your injury unless they bought commercial insurance. Companies like Uber provide their drivers with coverage while they have a passenger as they recognize that the driver's personal coverage is not enough.

If anyone reading this provides ride for hire service to MCO I'd be interested in their knowledge about this concern.

Does Uber operate here? Wonder what they would charge to airport.
