I know that all will be busy, but want to have an honest contractor whenever.

Just check with Seniors Against Crime before you authorize anything.

From this area and built a home here in the Villages after retirement. Eustis roofing has never had a negative reputation my entire life growing up here. It goes without saying, whoever you decide to go with, DO NOT EVER EVER NEVER sign over any insurance payment benefits to the roofing company.

Batterbee is great. Very consistent and reliable.
Be aware of the storm chasers. The guys who ride around in trucks claiming to be roofers but are actually handymen. They are charging a lot to tarp your roof and may not be there years down the road if you have an issue. Some of these tarp jobs look like they threw a garbage bag over your roof. Go with a bigger company who are authorized dealers. Also remember you have a 2% hurricane deductable on your insurance. That means your deductible is 2% of whatever you insured your dwelling for. So, figure out what the roof repair will cost and then decide maybe not to make a claim that will increase your premium if you are able to get any money or not. Of course if you need a whole new roof which many do, then call the insurance and be prepared for an $8K deductable if you are insured for $400K for example. |
