Our CA Home is in escrow! Seeing the (Villages) light at the end of the tunnel. On the the list of high priorities, where do Villages go to buy a new TV and then have it hooked up, including to the wifi? I am use to using Best Buy/Geek Squad and have been happy with their service. Any other recommendations?

WalMart has good prices on TVs. And of course Best Buy is nearby and reliable. You can use their Geek Squad, or I recommend Tom for installation, wiring, wifi set up, etc. Good luck! !!

Best Buy is good, but, if a comparable television is available at Sam's Club, I would buy it there instead. The reason is that they have a 90 day return policy as compared to only 14 days at Best Buy. Some TVs have a screen defect or other defect that may take longer to notice than 14 days. After 14 days, Best Buy won't return it. Sam's will take it back within 90 days for any reason at all and give you a full refund. Hooking up the TV is really not a big deal.

That's why I mentioned Sam's Club, I've bought two TV's there. I didn't mention Walmart because everything they have, Sam's has it but cheaper. However, if you're not a Sam's member or need technical assistance, Best Buy is the next best option. You can also use Sam's Club and get assistance from Tom in the Village of St. James. He's installed literally hundreds of TV's, antennas and everything else in electronics. Here's his website.

I would go with Best Buy. Never had a problem there and they can answer your questions and make suggestions on your purchases. They do not work on commission. They also have Geek Squad for service. Just my opinion.

OP you did not mention the proposed cable company, Comcast (as of last week) was NOT going into the house, they would hook up the cable to the house and the low voltage box in the garage, and then drop of the other equipment. I helped a neighbor 'install' 3 rooms of television equipment, took about an hour to get all 3 setup. this was not too bad IF you are familiar with comcast equipment, could be very interesting otherwise. No idea about the other cable suppliers. Also, no idea if Geek squad will install comcast equipment.

We purchased our big screen tv's at Best Buy after relocating to TV. The Geek Squad did a great job installing them. I would suggest that you get the extended insurance. We didn't and our Samsung tv died nine months after we bought it. Fortunately it was still under warranty so Samsung eventually gave us a full credit but dealing with folks overseas was problematic, and took several weeks and many phone calls to remedy the situation. If we had purchased the warranty, Best Buy would have replaced it with much less hassle.

My 75" Samsung died last year, just two years after buying it at Best Buy. I bought the Geek Squad Warranty at that time, why buy it in advance when you can buy it when you need it. It was $199 for a year and they came out and diagnosed the problem. It needed a $200 power board. I think that will be last Samsung I ever buy, my 2012 Vizio 65" in the bedroom is still going strong. If the Samsung goes out again, I saw a new LG 75" TV last week for $799. In 2017 and 2018 we bought new stainless steel LG washer & dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher from Best Buy and they all work great!

Yes, Samsung has had a bit of history with surprising failures. I had a DLP set go bad with a system board failure. I would have replaced it myself except for the major surgery involved. Replaced the set. I also had one of their LCD models that experienced near 100% failure rate from blown caps on the power board. Samsung replaced the caps (really) on the power board. That same set also experienced a system board failure that I replaced myself. Three other Samsung sets have been OK, so far.

Tom from Villages Audio did all our work and very good work and reasonably priced. They are an authorized Samsung dealer so we did nothing but open the door.
