Default The Carriage Trade Consignment Shop

Has anyone used this shop to sell gently used furniture? We will be having quite a bit of furniture to sell when we redecorate our home in TV. Just wondered if they would be a good way to sell it. Or should we just post the furniture items here on TOTV?

Lynne,

I dont know about that particular shop, but a lot of people sell their used furniture thru Bargains and Treasures! However they do take a 45% cut. They have so many people going in and out of there every day that things seem to sell fast.

There is also a consignment shop in Leesburg on 44l called "Neerly New" that will buy your furniture outright from you. They have a large turnover of items also.

By the way, where is that shop located that you mentioned. I was SURE I knew where they all were but havant heard of that one.

Neerly New buys and sells outright, so there might be some wiggle, butnthe prices were great and the service so spectacular we paid sticker and anto be regulars.

Furniture Barn off 441 was great too.
Between those two, the Habitat shop, and B&T we furnished three places in a couple days' time.
Several runs in the van then a big 'whew' when it all fit in.

How does one go about using Craig's List? I've heard of it for several years, but have had no experience with it.

Just go to the website, open an account and your off. Its a no frills site but works great for us. One thing we do is NEVER respond to emails. If you do you risk being swamped with spam. We always put our cell number and talk to the buyers beforehand. You can usually tell the ones that are serious. Also we normally meet them at a shopping center or something like that, not usually our house.
