Default Moving Supplies?

Does anyone know where I can purchase/rent moving supplies....such as pads or blanket protection for furniture, boxes, etc. We'll be using a POD, so we need our own supplies.

Any help, suggestions will be appreciated!

I haven't looked for anything but the boxes, got a great deal from Costco.......they have various sizes and compared to everywhere else I checked, the prices are great. Someone sent this to me, but I never used it.

DAYTON are you moving to or from the Villages

Standard Boxes, bubble wrap and tape...we got the vast majority or ours at SAMS. Guarantee you will need more tape than you are planning for.

Speciality boxes for lamps pictures TV, and Wrapping paper etc....get then from U-Haul. Home Depot also has wrapping paper

Furniture PADS...Rent them from U-Haul. we rented 60 for 2 pods

Donot go cheap on boxes meaning do not just pick up boxes at grocery stores etc. Your POD will be packed better with standard size moving moxes

Thank you for the info. We are moving from The Villages. If you know of anyone who has just moved in and wants to get rid of their boxes, etc...please post on here! I'll be glad to take the stuff off their hands!

Suggest you also post on the "want to buy" Board here on TOTV. Most people would give the boxes to you if you pick them up but even broken down they take up alot of room. YOu still will need new wraping paper, bubble wrap and rent the pads.

Go "cruising" on your golf cart up and down the streets where new construction is under way and people are moving in. That's what we did when we needed boxes to move from Duval to Bonita. You'll see garages stuffed with boxes that are empty or soon to be empty. I rang some doorbells and people were more than willing to let us take what we wanted. Saved them the hassle of cutting down and putting at the curb.

And since tomorrow is trash/recycle day I'm sure there are a lot of boxes sitting at the curb right now in the new areas of Bonita, Hemmingway, Amelia, Hadley and Duval. You'll be real excited when you score some of those expensive wardrobe boxes just sitting there for the taking!

I've found U-Haul has decent prices for packing/moving supplies. I've always bought my paper and bubble wrap from them. Also purchased their boxes when we were up north preparing to move south. You can check out what they have and prices on their web site.

Good luck with packing and your move. Sorry to see you leave The Villages.

Default Gladly

I tore all our boxes down and placed them in a neat pile. Took all the wrapping paper and stuffed it in 30 gal trash bags. My neighbor took it all. He's moving from TV also.

Good idea cruising in new construction. I'm sure those folks would be glad to recycle their boxes also.
