Any need to have this done? If so, who, how much can we expect to pay?
Thanks |

In my opinion, it is a total waste of money to clean your HVAC ductwork. But, if you are talking about your dryer vent, then that is worth doing.

As long as you are changing the filter on your A/C unit, IMHO, "cleaning" is not required or necessary. Dryer vent, yes, these do need to be cleaned occasionally. We are very careful about cleaning the filter in the dryer, and there still was some build up in the dryer vent, not much, and after 4 years of use.

It’s virtually impossible to clean flexible duct without it collapsing or puncturing, it’s a scam. Only hard ducted pipe can be cleaned properly, which is a commercial/industrial application.
Here in TV the residential ducting is flexible duct. Regular filter changes are all that’s required. Up north I installed pre-filters in all my return registers, this kept the return ducting clean. Here every room has a return register, it would be impractical and unnecessary especially considering we move every 5 years or so or until the new house smell goes away [emoji55] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Wiotte; 07-08-2018 at 10:26 PM. |
