Upholstery Rip Off

I had my golf cart seats reupholstered by Jackie's Upholstery at 107 N Old Dixie Hwy, Lady Lake about one year ago, now the seams began to separate, when I called she told me to bring in a copy of my receipt and she would review it, the day I went to her shop she was just leaving as I pulled in, she at first stopped and returned to the parking area, once I had opened the hatch on my car she could she who I was, she turned and left. I left the seat in question and when I called two days later. I was told that she said it wasn't her work and she would charge me to make the repair. I said I have the receipt that shows the date, the materials ordered, the work to be performed and payment in full. She conveniently was not at the shop again when I showed up as I was stupid enough to say I was on the way to pick up my seat. The person at the shop explained that Jackie had said that was not the thread that she uses and thus not her work, I said, so she ordered the materials and I either did the work myself or took it to another shop to be done, I think not.
Bottom line she is dishonest and doesn't stand behind her work, I would recommend you do not do business with this shop unless you're ready for a rip off.

Some years ago I bought fabric for a chair to be reupholstered and took it to Jackie's. The job was well done, except the fabric was inside-out. She denied that was the case, as "We have been in the business for years and we know which side is the right side." I let the matter pass because the fabric was nice on either side -it was just that the color was off.

A couple years ago I told a friend about my experience, and cautiond her to be sure any work they did was right side out. My friend bought an old side chair that needed a new seat and maybe the back done. She bought fabric and hired Jackie's. This time they did a sloppy, miserable job. When confronted, Jackie denied it was wrong but that the "boys" had done the work. She declined to do anything about it, so my friend declined to pay her left it with Jackie with instructions to "throw it in the trash."

No I wouldn't recommend Jackie's.
