Hi, I'm wondering what you thoughts and experiences are with using sun shades (like Coolaroo) or having tinted windows (like The Solar Guys can do).
I want to enclose my lanai with glass on three sides and will want to do something to keep the sun out (heat and direct sunlight). I'm wondering if it would be better to add sun shades or tint the windows or are both needed? Thank you. |

My in-laws had both ... over the years, the tinted glass coating began to peel ... they had the coating removed and it wasn't an easy job. The shades were just as pleasing to look at, served the same purpose, and are a fine addition to their sunroom. Good luck in your decision!

Checked their website - lifetime guarantee. Has anyone had The Solar Guys put tinting on their lanai windows?

We've had Coolaroo roll up shades installed in both our homes. They are great shades that still let light through. Our lanai has 'after market' window tinting. It is bubbling and looks a mess. I dread the removal process.

we found out after the fact that tinting windows will void the window warranty.
The people at Marion Market installed roll down see through shades really do block the sun |
