Default Your experience with property management companies.

I would appreciate anyone sharing their experience using a property management company to manage their rental or if you managed it yourself from out of state.

Manage it yourself. I understand where you coming from there is no rule book on this. You can message me for some details, public forum is not the place. I can't emphasize the importance of a good liaison on the ground. I recommend The Cunningham's. They advertiser here. Cost is fair and the service is excellent.

We used them when we first purchased our new ranch house. They rented it the first year for only 2 1/2 months. We had to pay to use It when we came down and pay a cleaning fee. We let them go after one year and did it on ourselves. So, my answer is do it yourself.

That is absolutely incorrect. The Cunningham's are a home watch service that also handle the Guest. YOU manage YOUR home There are firms that do handle everything and do charge you to use your home. The Cunningham's are not such a firm!

Are there any of these "handle everything" firms in The Villages? Thanks.

Sure, Google property management firms and at least six will come up, check this forum for comments on the firm.. They charge 17 to 20%.

Another recommendation for The Cunningham's. Great couple who are responsive so you know that your home is being taken care of. And they treat your guests like you want them to be treated. We've been using them almost two years and will continue to do so until we are ready to move into our home. We had originally considered a 'handle everything' arrangement prior but glad that we didn't.
