Default About that drone strike

After the drone strike, the headlines announced:

U.S. drone strike kills ‘multiple suicide bombers’ in Afghanistan, officials say

General Miley deemed it a "righteous strike"

But they never actually named the supposed Isis K "planners" killed in the strike.

The New York Times investigated and tell a different story. They killed a US Aid worker and 9 other innocent people including 3 children.

The New York Times and Washington Post say the strike the US said targeted an Islamic State operative actually killed an aid worker on daily duties in Kabul.

So much for "over the horizon anti terrorist capabilities. Sounds more like a "wag the dog strike" than a "righteous strike.

Everyone is too busy sweeping it under the rug to explain and it doesn’t interest most of the news media.

More Googling.

Could be just another batch of lies from the same generals who have been lying about our great progress in Afghanistan for the past 20 years. Anybody really surprised?

Appears this went all the way up the CENTCOM chain of command. Not the fault of the grunt who pushed the button. Generals need to be held accountable.

I don't watch the news anymore, or believe anything the government says, it's all propaganda .

Nonsense. Overseas drone strikes require approval of "the big guy"

Correction to OP. It was 9 members of the aid worker's family killed in the strike, including his 7 children,

Imagine if your average american ran over and killed a family of ten in a crosswalk. Then tells the judge and jury that they were terrorists, and their suicide vests all detonated.

The needle or life behind bars at least.

Funny how military works when reporting to career politicians, no career politicians want to here bad news. So what happens in the trenches at lowest level incidence hardly even gets reported correctly to high levels. It goes through several layers of supervision and management all putting there twist on it so they look good for promotions.

I had a company commander who had a sign on his wall saying, 'The Buck stops at the man below me!'

The Peter Principle explains how Milley and Austin got to their positions.

The Peter Principle is a concept in management developed by Laurence J. Peter, which observes that people in a hierarchy tend to rise to their "maximum level of incompetence":

I take any of these reports with a grain of salt. Bottom line is we really don’t know who was killed and likely never will. Sad that honesty is not the best policy in reporting
