Former Sumter County Sheriff William Farmer dies – WFTV


I recall receiving a letter from him after I had complemented him on how well one of his officers had looked out for me when my car broke down on Buena Vista Boulevard. The policeman had directed traffic around my vehicle and waited for the tow truck to get there.


I also had mentioned my work on trying to improve access to practical information for survivors and victims of crimes to him and he seemed to think it was a good cause. I did not go into much detail because I tried to stay out of the limelight at that time.
