It should be everyone's responsibility to slow the spread of this virus. What are you doing? I wear a mask when social distancing is not guaranteed.

Of course masks work.
No new COVID-19 cases reported after infected hair stylists exposed 140 clients in Missouri
combined with social distancing to reduce the virus airborne spread. If the majority of spread is airborne from exhaling infected particles, and masks catch a large portion of exhaled air and particulates, why would you not think that masks work? The primary purpose is to reduce the virus particles expelled into the air.

However, when humans are involved, any complex system can be broken due to the individual's cerebral cortex. Everyone's is different, and has differences processing information, safety, and empathy, etc. So try to manage a very large population with information? and this variety of re-actions and behaviors are what happens. But the problem is understanding the risk involved by each individual. Very, very difficult to judge the risk of catching and the risk of not surviving or the risk of damage if surviving. This is the human condition, we all judge risk differently. Darwin non survivors make mistakes in the judgement of risk. Darwin survivors make fewer or smaller mistakes in the judgement of risks. As the risk is difficult to estimate in both areas, being conservative always wins out vs mother nature with healthcare.

As this is a free country, as compared to say China, people who misjudge the risk will most likely fall ill, those that respect the risk for their situation, will have a better chance of survival. Just remember, the long term effects are still unknown, as we haven't even made it out of the pandemic stage yet.

So drunk driving is ok by that standard. . . not your responsibility to keep people out of your way, and if you hit them, oh well, not your responsibility.

I guess the whole "love thy neighbor as thyself" thing doesn't apply to you. Or perhaps you just have a pretty profound self-loathing.

Our kids have to go through metal detectors, have shooting drills and wear bullet proof backpacks at school. These kids are developing PTS and people won't put a stupid mask on? Come on, let's get real.

So DUI laws should be abolished and those whose medical conditions adversely affect their driving...should be given their licenses back?

If I had read far enough to see your post...it would have saved me from making mine.

That’s the very definition of SELFISHNESS unless I am mistaken.

It’s just a label, but an appropriate one.

N95 masks do protect the wearer. Why doesn’t government provide these masks for those in the high risk category? Why spend so much on the economy and health services when it would be so much more cost effective and socially acceptable to provide N95 or N99 masks instead? If they need fitting, so what? Dentures need fitting too but we manage it.

The governor is well aware that the vast majority of people in Florida are either staying home, wearing masks and using other safety measure during this time. Had they not, our numbers would be significantly higher than they are. The statistics and numbers would be unimaginable.Fortunately the governor realizes he doesn't have to "hold everyone accountable" since the majority are following guidelines. Those who are not, are those who are finding themselves in those long lines right now. A mask is most more convenient (and hopefully short term) than a ventilator or connected to an oxygen tank. Be safe, think about yourself, your family and friends.

Are you proud of yourself for not wearing a mask? How about doing your part to slow the spread of this virus. That is the only way America can get back to a normal economy. Don’t you want the economy to recover?
