What I find a lot more offensive than an athlete kneeling for the national anthem is some guy in Washington DC who's never served calling veterans lo***s and su***rs. It's so vile I cannot even write the words even though they are not profane outside of this context.

As to the original question. I don't think the NBA will hurt much at all. We're not exactly in their target market. The NFL has proven it has too much of a pull for enough people to turn their TV sets off. I think MLB and the NHL are taking huge risks and I'd be very surprised if this doesn't hit them deeply in the pocket book.

I'm just surprised they are willing to hitch their wagon to Jacob Blake. I don't understand how you can look at the facts of that and see that this was somehow racially motivated and that in any way he was not the person 100% in the wrong.
Bless You! blake was a bad man, --look @ WHY victim's family members called the police out. someone in the home knew blake well enough to inform police of concealed weapons on him. it's factors like these that take away from outrage over George Floyd's handling

I’m glad they enjoyed themselves not bending to crowd mentality

So, are you tired of the activism in pro sports? Have you stopped watching?

You have to admit... golf continues to "fly underneath the radar." I haven't seen anyone on the pro circuit wear a "BLM" shirt. In fact, none of the pro golf players are jumping into this controversy.

I love this. They are just playing the sport they love and we just get to watch it. Sigh...
Pro sports have been dead to me for years...they are overpaid kids and have no respect for anybody. The stupid fans who support them now are idoits. These athletes who get paid millions to “play” are laughing at us. They are NOT HEROES OR ROLE MODELS. They take their money to the bank and laughing at the stupid people in the stands. With COVID happening, people should realize that doctors, nurses, police, all of them deserve to get paid millions, not these sorry excuse for men who get paid millions and still cry that they don’t get paid enough. If everyone would stop supporting them or going to games, they will learn when they start losing money. Smarten up people, ignore pro sports.

I do not believe he said that but do you need to bring politics into this?

Worked the final 24 years of my career in Hartford and my Company sponsored a Corporate tent at the tournament and went every year. My favorite tournament because I played the course about 50 times and know every hole by heart. Very fun to watch the pros go way under par from the tips on a track I struggled with from the white T’s.

Really, you need to ask that question? Watch a game and figure it out for yourself. News flash, Villagers are not a target market anywhere except the Villages. Outside of 55+ communities 25 - 45 year olds are the target market. You won’t find an add for hearing aids, walk in bath tubs, erectile dysfunction treatments, skin cancer treatments, etc.... during an NBA game.

This entire thread is not overtly political, but is at least mildly political, no?

Four sources from The Atlantic reporter, and confirmed by FoxNews reporter Jennifer Griffin with two sources. The preponderance of evidence is he said it, but I'll concede he's not on tape. He is on tape calling the former senator from AZ a loser. I understand why you cannot allow yourself to believe it. I got disappointed by HRC.

I record everything! I can fast forward through the crap. You can watch a football game in less than an hour.

athletic gear, pizza , cellphones , computers, automobiles and other local adds tucked in with the National ads. Maybe some people are so deep in the. bubble they feel if Walmart doesn’t have it , it’s not worth buying. I’m sorry to disappoint you but at 81 I’m still shopping for clothes mostly at Hugo Boss and Amani , using all Nike gear that’s up to date ,eating out most nights with my favorites beings chops, blue fin and bonefish and when the virus is over back to alternating winters between Miami Beach and Hawaii . I’ll still be watching all the pro sports and like my circle of friends still buying things that I see on basketball adds. There plenty of life left after 55 , my dad was going to Patriots game in his 90’s and at 98 drove himself to hospital ,when I met him in lobby he had on an Armani leather jacket and sweater and Italian short boots because even though he knew it was over that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look good, live your life to the fullest , it’s the only one you’ll get

I find it ironic that many of the NFL players who of course have their names on their jerseys and are felons themselves are now wearing the names of other felons on their helmets. lol
