Default A&E Has Lost Half Its Viewers Since Dropping ‘Live PD’

Ratings for A&E Network have plummeted since it canceled the hit police reality show “Live PD” on June 10, a sign of how much the network relies on law-enforcement programming.

Average prime-time viewership for A&E between June 11 and July 19 was 498,000 people, down 49% from the same period last year, according to data from Nielsen. In the key demographics of adults 18-49 and 25-54, the declines are 55% and 53%, respectively.

Glad to hear.

All things being equal with most of us staying home at night and presumably lots watching TV ordinarily viewership would go up.

Hope lots of stations and advertisers are paying attention

A&E stands for Arts and Entertainment. Been a long time since the Arts were prominently featured. But I must admit that I miss the Pasco County segments.

My grandson and I were both fans of Live PD.
But in todays climate, you must not show the Police in a good light.
Hope station goes bust!

What BAMA BOY said is true. LivePD was the most watched series on Television since a few months after it's inception about three years ago. If you didn't watch it, it was to me, most of all, comforting. Watching and seeing Law enforcement people, men and women, old and young, gay and straight, all races, all personalities and sizes and they were to a man or woman doing their job almost always completely calmly and politely and in control and they were faced with a variety of people who I would have hit with something and been immediately arrested.

I was completely surprised by the attitude of many people who had not one ounce of respect for the law or rules and who made lying almost into an art form and I watched these heroes. YES, I CALL THEM HEROES, remain calm, explain things, read them their rights and release them far more times than you might expect.

I am biased with a grandfather and an uncle who were police officers for many years and did it at a time there was booze but no street drugs and very few terrible things except domestic violence.

It hurts me in a very real way to see all of the police officers maligned and disrespected by many people and all because of the actions of a few.
