We will learn from the CDC briefing at 3 PM today.
It is expected that those who are vaccinated mask up....again.

It will be interesting to see what local restaurants and businesses do.

If it were my business I would have a sign like I have seen in several places this week in TV......if you have been vaccinated wearing a mask is optional for you.....if you have not been vaccinated we "request" you wear a mask.....

and that is the way it should be.....the emphasis just has to be on those who are vulnerable...those not vaccinated....the ones currently flooding the hospitals.....if after all the warnings and coaxing and prodding they still do not get vaccinated they are by default agreeing to live with the results.....more cases/more hospitalizations/more deaths.......

Those of us who are vaccinated can do little or nothing to change the minds of these people......

requiring the vaccinated to mask up is useless eyewash, side steps the real problem and is stupid.

No, I honestly do NOT! The traditional TV channels can NOT concentrate on Florida and they can't put Florida down more than some other states - simply because their sponsors would not allow it - Florida has too large of a population. The late-night comedians DO have a tendency to lampoon "Florida Man", but it is basically good-natured humor. ALL TV channels call out situations in ALL states that they believe are worth bringing to the attention of their audiences. Controversy increases ratings for ALL TV channels.

Currently, Florida has 20% of the US cases, and at least one hospital is having as many CV patients as during the 1st big surge. That IS all scary stuff and IS a warning to the rest of America. So, the TV news MUST cover it.

I am tired of seeing that our economy is going to suffer extensively from this thing that is so obviously preventable. But as long as there are those who are allowing themselves to be played as pawns in the game of power, we’re all going to be hit economically, in one way or another.

And I am tired of a year-plus of wearing a mask — that could start all over. This upcoming possibility of going back to that is like one of those stupid class-punishments that some teachers use. (I taught secondary ed for a hundred years and never, ever used one of those.)

I am tired of the fact that Pogo was absolutely right.

I gotta get outa here now and do something useful. Why oh why can’t I stop looking at these threads. . .

A year and a half ago we were going around this tree. At that point, it was "no worse than the flu", "magically disappear in April", and on and on. And anyone who said, no it isn't was attacked, being called fear mongers for simply pointing out what experts said. And even today, some people are still saying it is no worse than the flu. No more people died from it than the flu, those numbers are just lies. And the beat goes on.

Some days I wonder how the human race survived this long.

Florida as the state with the biggest CV problem, may NOT have all the tools needed to solve the problem. The future of Floridians with its mismatches of communities and little sense of State alliance and over-diversification may NOT be as bright as its Sunshine State motto!

Everything there IS true, but OrangeBB was referring NOT to the Delta variant - rather to future POSSIBLE more deadly variants due to incubation in the currently UNvaccinated. The unknown is more frightening and more difficult to deal with than the known - in the case of what could follow the Delta is a variant that could defeat our current vaccines. Then, a whole NEW class of vaccines may or MAY NOT be needed to fight these NEW variants. It could be a long war of "catch-up" for the vaccine Scientists!

See Israel with 3rd booster coming in most vaxxed country in the world followed by Trudeau ordering what amounts to 10 boosters per year for 2022 and 2023. Now you have to wear a mask again. If this doesn't equal short term immunity then nothing does.
