How about a more realistic example to demonstrate the intent of the deputizing?

Half a dozen protestors are carrying torches up your drive way....are banging on the garage door and front door for you to open up or they are gonna burn your house down.

That is what is being discussed. Not shooting wildly at nothing for no reason...by incompetent aging residents.

When we, competent, trained, licensed gun owners, are discussing taking up arms it is for life threatening situations....not some derogatory anecdotal fluff.

This woman in Michigan was most likely a "lawful gun owner" until the other day when she did this. She now faces multiple felonies.

I like the way he thinks, as far as his personal life I don't think it has anything to do with protecting citizens under his care

A clip out of context.
Actually looks more like a set up/acted out video.
Very poorly done at that.

Not to worry there are many in TV who carried a gun and had to use it to protect.

Sounds good but deputizing so-called lawful gun owners is pretty scary. What do some lawful citizens consider breaking the law or committing a crime. I’ve owned guns for 60 yrs. & what some gun owners think breaking the law is & being able to protect property, then shooting someone, I’m almost sure some of these unstable gun owners would start another protest! But then again it might be a good idea, even some nut case would think twice!

The millions of responsible gun owners shooting millions and millions of rounds daily/weekly/monthly.....without incident.

Nahh....I forgot the anti gunners would not want to know about that.

Instead they prefer to paint the picture of a lawless bunch of old farts who have no idea what they are doing.

In the event of an emergency requiring lawful gun owners to respond the anti gunners will be damn glad we are here......in silence of course.

Funny how the message of the sheriff was glossed over, by some, to be replaced on an attack on his character.
Who you callin old fart? Meet me at Cody's Corral at high noon. Or is it high at Cody's at noon? Damn I need a nap.

using that quotation, in a political context Wright was not the man who made that statement famous, it was Malcom x , when asked about how he felt about Kennedy death he made the statement about chickens coming home to roost everyone was mad about it but Malcom though bluntly spoke the truth we had just conspired in the killing of the elected president of South Vietnam , I was in Saigon at the time , the 2 acts were not connected but in gone by times it was never good to kill a king because his people would try to kill your king , but maybe it’s just bad luck also to kill a king ( put president if you like)

I would feel real safe with all the knucleheads out there carry guns. Remember Georgia killing a jogger they thought was a looter.

Yeah, imagine meeting a gang of thugs at night while walking to the parking lot with your family. All you'll need is a healthy ego

Funny yes, surprising NO! These types revel in ad hominem attacks; facts are not arrows in their quiver
