He might resort to thieving from campsites for supplies.

I don't think he's in the Carlton Preserve. If he went there at all it was to get rid of evidence. But he, himself, isn't there.

I'm sure the law is watching and listening to everything his parents are doing.
With the thousands of missing people, why are they so focused on making this a national media event.

The kid might be at mommy and daddy's house after all...

The wife just heard a drone pilot report on the radio. The pilot saw a hand poking out of a hatch cover on the property, possibly from a bunker or cellar.

Timeline of Gabby Petito case - CNN

Time will tell what actually happened in all of this.

He did seem to be rather disliked by the other prisoners just judging by their body language and the like I noticed when I visited him at Stillwater. And the judge and others I interacted with on his behalf seemed to loathe this man. He did seem like a very poor excuse of a human being and his criminal history bore that out.

Anyway, it is hard to generalize what might have happened from scant individual facts. And so far I have not seen anything to suggest that this man in the news, Brian Laundrie, is a sociopath. He might just have lost it in a fit of rage caused by what looks like mental health problems of both Gabby Petito and her boyfriend.

Aside from this case, which I know little about, sociopaths are a fairly common personality disorder. They estimate 1 in 25 have it but often times it goes undiagnosed because they can lead normal lives without interfacing with the law and the like. But as you suggested, he may have just snapped and committed a heinous crime. It can even happen to those without any mental health issues.

Remains found today, along with some of Laundrie's personal items, so there's a likely chance it's him. His parents just happened to also resume searching in the same area again today, right before the remains were found, so what a coincidence. While I have a certain amount of empathy for any parent(s) who loses a child, their behavior/actions during this entire sordid ordeal has left a really bitter taste in my mouth. Hopefully, he wrote a confession and expressed great regret, but even that - wouldn't be nearly enough for me.

Sounds like the parents had a good idea where their son might be hiding but it was under water or something like that. If he had lost it and killed someone he was deeply in love with I can understand him taking his own life and he probably would have done it at some place he and his beloved would often go. That place might also be known to his friends and parents from social media and other pictures.

An expected ending. Laundrie found dead.

Well at least we know where he is now. His parents were telling the truth after all. I just don't understand why they didn't report him missing sooner.
