Thumbs up Some major corporations are changing...for the better.

A number of companies with past problems...are now setting the best examples. (Click Here)

Quote:
The police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis last month elicited statements denouncing racial inequality from major corporations with past scandals and legal settlements tied to alleged discrimination, including Bank of America (BAC), JPMorgan Chase (JPM), and Walmart (WMT).

Some of those companies have been “awakened” by current unrest over racial inequality, says Yale University professor of management Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, who posits that large companies that faced past allegations of discrimination have often responded best in the aftermath of Floyd’s death due perhaps to the criticism they once received for their shortcomings.

Last week, Sonnenfeld convened a virtual discussion of race relations with over 300 chief executives, mayors, and government officials.

“Companies that historically had the biggest problems are often setting the best models right now,” he says. “Maybe it’s from litigation or legislation or people in the media.”

Some of the irony is that large lumbering older giants have been awakened,” adds Sonnenfeld, who also serves as the senior associate dean of leadership programs at the Yale University School of Management.Maybe sometimes they’ve been punished in the past.

They have found religion, for the most part.”

Now who in the world can think...this is a bad thing?

Methinks however, there will certainly...be some.

Get woke go broke. So methinks their stockholders won't be happy

Gillette got woke, made an atrocious add demeaning men, (mostly white ones) and their sales went down, who woulda thunk insulting your customers was a good idea.

Gillette Sales Decline Following ‘Toxic Masculinity’ Ad – Summit News

There's are many many more examples of the get woke go broke phenomena in Gaming, Movies, Media, Business etc

Nike lost almost $4 billion in stocks after signing Colin Kaepernick to the Just Do It Ads.

Pandering to the SJWs is one of the many reasons 2017 was one of the worst years in box office history. It got so bad that Solo: A Star Wars Story became the first Star Wars film to ever result in profit losses.

Since many NFL players have begun protesting the national anthem, NFL stadiums have become so deserted that the NFL was willing to significantly lower seat prices just to fill them.

As CNN gets woker, its ratings crash lower

X Men Dark Pheonix was a massive box office bomb and the lowest rated X Men movie of all time. One such scene was where it should be called X Women instead of X Men.

Nike up $26 BILLION since Colin Kaepernick Endorsement (pass it here)

Colin Kaepernick is helping Nike rake in big bucks. According to Yahoo, ever since the athlete-turned-activist endorsed the corporate sneaker giant, their company value has skyrocketed.

Nike’s stock reportedly rose over 18% since the announcement of the Kaepernick deal, adding a spectacular $26.2 billion to the Nike coffers and increasing its value at nearly $146 billion.

Nike shares fall amid backlash over Colin Kaepernick ads

Nike sponsors 1000s of athletes and teams all over the world. The drop in their shares immediately after signing Kapernick is attributed to him.

Here is a list of Nike's top ten endorsement deals. These guys get paid the most because they sell the most merchandise. Nobody named Kapernick here. He gets paid $5 million per year, so his contribution to profits would be 1/12 of Michael Jordans 1/4 of Tiger Woods and so on.

All kinds of new words.

Smug rhymes with thug.

Won't raise the barn. Nope.

Some folks know how to sound polite but many don't know how to BE good.

I stand with those who don't break the law. Saying and being and doing are sometimes three different things.

Yes, the report was published right after Nike announced Kapernick signing. Their shares fell that day. If you think Nike's value is up 26 billion because of Kapernick, you need to call his agent because a whole bunch of people are getting paid more by Nike.

Nike’s Value Up $26 Billion Since Colin Kapernick endorsement

An excellent example of correlation is not causation.

If CK was responsible for a 26 billion dollar rise, why is he only paid $5 million per year while Michael Jordan got paid $185 million by Nike last year? Endorsements are calculated by the amount of merchandise moved. So Jordan is worth 37 Kapernicks and there are many others with Nike who get paid way more than Kapernick.

Nike has made $6 billion since its Colin Kaepernick ad - Vox

Quote:
The boycott against Nike for making Colin Kaepernick the face of its latest ad campaign doesn’t seem to be having the desired effect.

According to CBS, Nike’s stock has soared over the past year, seeing a 5 percent increase since Labor Day — the day it revealed that Kaepernick, the former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, was the star of company’s 30th-anniversary “Just Do It” campaign.

Sales of jerseys bearing his name have been among the league’s most popular even though he hasn’t played in two years, and Reuters reported last week that Nike’s Kaepernick women’s jersey had sold out.

Back to the topic.

A number of companies with past problems...are now setting the best examples. (Click Here)

Quote:
Bank of America (BAC), which paid $335 million in a settlement to the Justice Department in 2011 for alleged predatory mortgage loans given by a subsidiary lender, “will not tolerate racism in any form,” according to a statement from CEO Brian Moynihan.

The company pledged $1 billion last Wednesday to fight racial inequality over the next four years.

Favorable statements and actions in response to the protests may also prove effective public relations. A large majority 74% of Americans support the protests that have arisen in the wake of Floyd’s death, according to a poll released by the Washington Post on Tuesday, which the newspaper conducted in partnership with the Schar School from June 2 to 7.

Would people please stop using bizarre coloring and tiny text sizes when writing on this forum? It’s really hard to read.
