I do wonder how the SMART plant managers will explain the underage workers. Sure, they may rely on still other agencies to provide temporary workers but when the 13 year old walked through the door someone should have noticed.

But the SMART plant was not just a supplier, it was a subsidiary

I have to wonder that nobody in the factory reported this to OSHA and that there was no Union rep?

If the story is true and I don't doubt it, someone must have reported the problem to the authorities.
It could have been a co-worker or even a plant manager.
But as I think we all come to realized, today very few people want to take credit for doing the right thing of fear of reprisal.

So the kid's parents didn't know he/she was working there? I seriously doubt it. They probably arranged for them to work there.
Besides ....... every time you buy something and the label says "Made in China" it is extremely likely that it was made/assembled by an underage "worker" or even slave workers. Lots of items that go into automobiles and trucks come from China. Even the paint on the vehicle .... the pigments are Chinese.

You said ... "But as I think we all come to realized, today very few people want to take credit for doing the right thing of fear of reprisal" ...

Ok, to be fair, let's examine this statement: Very few people have done the right thing for fear of reprisal - for too long. It is NOT just today. DON'T LUMP THAT ON US! Please let me explain why my observations have lead me to believe WHY we're in this pickle. It's our own fault! We don't do the right thing. And we haven't for 3 generations of Americans.

IMHO this began when women & men turned their backs on their children. Whether it was inside her womb (the safest place a child should ever be) or out (when she left them in daycares and went to work) -- we haven't been doing the right thing for our children - our future.

Personal gain & selfishness have ruled since the great depression, a "what's in it for me" attitude, if you will. This began in the 1930s. Then, for nearly 50 years we did the absolute wrong thing! Men were footloose & fancy free. There was never a better time to be a man in the USA! White, black, red, yellow - it didn't matter. If you worked hard - man & woman could get ahead. And, men could turn his back on his woman & his child! All responsibility for children became a woman's responsibility. Man was a paycheck and the administration became daddy.

We made it too easy for woman to turn her back on her child. This placed the burden of sin on all of mankind because death in the womb became legal. The child in the womb became the slave. Only this time, it was to this their mother's whims.

But the time of evil is over once again!. Thank God We the People can get back to doing the right thing - for our children's sakes! God gave woman this moral obligation & man gave her the ability to destroy His Creation.

It's time for men to do the right thing again, too. It's time to be a moral people again. It's time to get back to our children. It's time to make women & children NUMBER ONE again! WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST!

... then, and only then, will we teach our children the right way. Then, and only then will our children see the value of human life. Then, and only then will they stop killing their classmates! It's time for US to do the right thing so our children will, too. It's time to do the right thing for the Common Good.

Ask yourself this: how could we ever expect our children to do the right thing when WE WEREN'T DOING THE RIGHT THING?

Adults must lead by example. We've nearly tipped past the point of no return! God is watching US & if we turn to Him & tell Him we were wrong & we do well by Him & His Creation - we will be ok. And parents won't want to send their child to Hyundai for a job. Don't blame them. Blame the chicken!

Ask yourself which came first - the chicken or the egg? The answer is - IN ALL CASES - the chicken! - it was the chicken who came first! Be good - do good - lead by example - and the children will follow.

Much love & peace & many blessings unto Us all from our Lord in heaven to you all ~
