Looks like an opinion article with no facts.

Apparently the PGA Embassy at Valhalla mitigated the situation. Schefflers Tour card has been returned by LPD. Go Celtics!

Maybe more like wishful thinking.
Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell said Sunday evening that they have made no decisions, so as of now, they still stand. “The Jefferson County Attorney’s office has made no decisions regarding the case of Mr. Scheffler. We continue to gather information in the case and will review and proceed accordingly.” Will Scottie Scheffler's Jefferson County charges get dropped? There was no body cam so that probably works in his favor. Last edited by ithos; 05-20-2024 at 05:08 AM. |

So someone gets run over by a bus….. The tragic incident complicated the traffic situation for entering Valhalla Golf Club and caused the road to close in both directions, and Scheffler “refused to comply and accelerated forward” when Detective Bryan Gillis stopped the golfer to give instructions, according to the police report.
Gillis “suffered pain, swelling and abrasions to his left wrist and knee,” the report continued. So this golfer guy is above the law because he golfs? Interesting that all of a sudden everyone is happy the officer was hurt during the golfers decision he was above the law. But YAY, he’s getting the charges dropped since he actually did do it. That seems fair. |

I bet if he was an ordinary white non golfer the charges would not be dropped either. But wait: the charges have not been dropped!

Probably not if this were a non -white celebrity with a very powerful law firm on speed dial. Celebrity justice.

It looks like the conditions were not good so they may give him a preferred lie.
He went into a penalty area, BUT, he may still get a free drop as it may have been marked incorrectly. His car was out of bounds but an OB stake had been moved so he really wasn't out of bounds As this was match play(one on one) and as he was ahead of the tee markers, he may be required to do a do over. Or play the first one as it lies. In this match play, his opponent, the police officer, may at anytime concede the match, even if he is ahead at the time of concession. In life, like golf, it's always best to know and obey the rules. Breaking the rules can create a plethora of penalties. That being said, if there is a question of breaking a rule and there are only the player and his opponent, the player gets the benefit of the doubt. In any case, the lesson here is to always, always, get to the golf course well ahead of your tee time in case something unforeseen happens. ![]() Quote:

I can see in a way why some people don’t like police, the news report I saw never said when they ask him to comply they never told him what they wanted him to comply with. The police never told him why they wanted him to get out of the car, or what he was there for, but on the other hand they were treating him like he did something wrong before he got told what was going on!
