Not just any American Pope. He's somewhat progressive. Not full-bore but somewhat, while still maintaining a "middle of the road" approach to leading his flock. Doing the work of Jesus, who welcomed the stranger and loved his neighbor. There's hope!

We will have to see how the new Pope handles this problem of abuse by the clergy . Hopefully he will not gaslight the victims and will do something productive about curbing it. And will do something that works in the real world and on a long term basis.

He is not hesistant to express his opinion on political matters and social activism.

He is more conservative on traditional values than the last Pope.

What to know about Pope Leo XIV and his views : NPR.

I reserve judgement until I see how he treats our country, their number one benefactor of donations. Praying for great things to come.
