Default Props to FHP 👏

For arresting the person that tied the pup up to a post along I-75 and left him there to drown. Felony cruelty to animals. Hope he gets what’s due him. 👏👏👏

Unfortunately, he won’t get what’s due him, which would be the exact same treatment the worthless dirtbag gave to the poor defenseless pup.

He's probably mentally disabled. No excuse though.

That being said, less than 50% hotels allow you to bring pets.

The hotel we stayed at charged $30 PER NIGHT PER PET! I have 3 cats and dog. That's an extra $120 PER NIGHT! I told them at check in that we were trying to avoid the hurricane. Didn't matter.

Like I said that is no excuse for what this guy did. But the fact of the matter is that many hotels will take advantage of us as we try to move to places we feel safe. It gets expensive at an extra $120 per night for a $130 per night hotel. For 3 to 7 nights?

Charging $30 to $75 per pet is common for pet friendly hotels. While it is a hardship for those who are only traveling due to a hurricane, it doesn’t meet the standard for price gouging. The fact is that some pet owners allow their pets to damage hotel rooms.

When we travel north, we take our small dog with us. Not all hotels that accept pets are really pet friendly.

Check out BringFido: Pet Friendly Hotels & Dog Travel Directory to read reviews, see pet charges, and make reservations for your travel.

I saw the story online at CBS news. What’s unbelievable is that he went to retrieve the dog, and brought pictures to prove ownership. He was convinced to let someone else adopt a dog. But to me it’s just inconceivable that someone would do that to a poor animal. I hope they throw the book at him.

I say that’s price gouging. $30 a night per pet.

And they made you stay there. 😱
Sorry they wouldn't let you leave, as I'm sure you would have, after hearing the price. 🥱

Inconceivable? Not to me. Not after a lifetime of seeing what horrors humans are capable of, even to their own.

Very reasonable, imho. You may consider them your "children", but to a business that provides lodging for humans, letting animals in requires extra work and potentially damage, extra liability and inconvenience for staff and other guests. We avoid pet friendly for those reasons.
Don't think it's fair? Keep on truckin'.
