That doesn’t explain why before the pandemic gas was selling for two dollars a gallon. It’s was called energy independent.

If the entire amount was a stimulus check and we each beginning about $5,000 per person. Also I always hear let's make the income tax fair I e raise it for people making more money, well why was this not giving up proportionately to those making less? So that may be those making under $50,000 would get 10,000, those between 50 and 100 we get $5,000, those between 100 and 150,000 we get just $1,000. And if it was so damn important why did it take almost 12 months between the 2nd and 3rd checks, well we really do know why but I can't talk about it on here
The 2nd and 3rd checks took a year because the previous administration felt that was what was needed at the time. Just like they felt that almost $2T was needed to provide massive tax cuts for the wealthy and very successful corporations. You know, the ones they said would save jobs, add millions of new jobs, and provide bonuses to employees. The ones that MOST employees never saw a dime of.

Oil production (at least in the US) is most certainly political. The recent EOs banning offshore drilling will decrease production and increase demand.

Decreasing fracking will do the same for Natural Gas prices...

They don't go to everybody. In fact, fewer people qualify this time around, because they lowered the income threshold to qualify. I have to wonder if some of you even took 5 minutes to skim the section summaries of the bill, or if you just bought whatever hyperbolic vomitus some random political correspondent chose to spew into the camera.

The money given away is your money. When they create a unheard of amount of spending out of thin air you are handed the bill to cover the cost in INFLATION 💰💰💰

The government is burying us in debt and sent most of it to clean up the mess is debt ridden states and abroad. Only a small fraction is going to Americans. Disgusting power play.

Did YOU "even took 5 minutes to skim the section summaries of the bill" to actually see where so much of the $1.9 is REALLY going? Hmm, did you???

On that point, wait until the "Infrastruture Bill" - reportedly going to be $3 TRILLION - will be going to. Two words come to mind. Pork and Earmarks.

Did you miss the part about the pipeline and oil independence? That's why gas was $1.88 a year ago.

In addition to all that your money will help the company that manufactures the vinyl floor, that makes the furniture, that ships the furniture and on. That is stimulating, isn’t it?

Why is everyone worried about what someone else is getting? Worry more about what other countries are getting and who is going to have to pay this money back.

We haven't needed any of the stimulus checks, so we decided at the outset to donate to favorite charities, spend it locally, and significantly overtip when dining out. I'm sure a great many of villagers have done the same.

Also, regarding your inflation claim - since the stimulus checks only made up 9% of the spending package, I'm pretty sure the other 91% of that pork spending will affect inflation to a much greater extent.

I honestly believe those folks who need the money should be helped, but this stimulus money was not meant for people who didn't need it and for those people living in The Villages that meet this criteria and don't need the stimulus money are just scamming the rest of us.
There is a tremendous difference between what we are told and REALITY. Checks for lost income due to Corona virus. Retired people here and everywhere, getting checks.
HUH, they are not working. Can't get to work due to corona virus? Pure insanity.

Where is this money coming from-the printing press. Sooner or later people, the world will realize the dollar is a nice print job. The full faith and credit of the United States.
I don't think anyone does not wonder about the full faith and credit of the United States and it's declining value.

Was it selling for under $2/gallon?

This chart shows otherwise. I see no reason to doubt its accuracy but if there is a better source of information I would be interested in it.
