What pipeline?
The rate was so low because demand was not there.

This is on top of the two prior stimulus checks they have received in the past six months.

I honestly believe those folks who need the money should be helped, but this stimulus money was not meant for people who didn't need it and for those people living in The Villages that meet this criteria and don't need the stimulus money are just scamming the rest of us.
Just give yours back.......Easy peasy

I think that depends on where those products are made. So many of our available products are made in China. Personally, I don’t think a country that is responsible for a pandemic should be rewarded, but many folks will be using their stimulus checks to purchase Chinese products and that I don’t support.

I also don’t support money going to prisoners. The argument to give them money was on the premise that they have families that might need that money, but I would counter-argue that family member may qualify on their own and many do not have families.

When my brother was attacked a few years ago by a meth head and left disabled, he refused to let his injuries get the best of him. He worked hard to regain the ability to walk and went back to work as soon as he could. He still suffers from his injuries. His assailant is still in prison. He will get a stimulus check; my brother who is faithfully paying his taxes will not. Our government made the decision to give checks to prisoners. I do not support this and I do not see how anyone in good conscience could do so.

Have you read the bill? Define pork please, federal "pork" is on the way for Florida. A little compassion goes a long way for folks that are less fortunate. Sometimes saving any amount of money is impossible with illness and unexpected circumstances. I know that the Villages has more compassion than is displayed on this post.

Default Not a scam

It’s not a scam. It’s called a “stimulus” for a reason. Do your part, and SPEND IT! That is the whole point. Flood the economy with money and get things rolling again. Concentrate on the 95% that need it, and not the 5% that don’t. Most Americans are extremely thankful for the additional help.

I am sure the Oil Industry is all about politics, but I was replying to a post regarding the present rise in oil prices.
Which over the last year was due to basic supply and demand, which was worldwide and not anything to do with politics.
Future price rises may be affected by political decisions in the USA. I leave that to the Wall Street Traders to speculate on!

As foot note.
Gas in the UK is today is $8.18 a gallon.
Diesel today is $8.66 a gallon!

Sorry, but for tens of millions of hard working Americans, "envy" has absolutely nothing to do with it. Just a continued disgust with giving tax cuts to those who need it the absolute least (and those who see no problem with this inequity), while those who need it the most - get nothing more than crumbs. Because we are more fortunate than most, we don't have a problem with contributing more than most.

This is a bald faced lie circulating on social media and spread by people who do not take the time to actually do anything even approaching a fact check. 9% of the bill was for vaccines, testing, and contact tracing, and other public health measures. But that is not the only Covid relief provided. So read the bill, or read the summary or read a fact check. Here are a few fact checks on your lie:

Fact check: Breaking down spending in the COVID-19 relief bill this one is before the Senate made a few changes.

PolitiFact | Budd says 9% of stimulus targets COVID, the rest is 'not even' related again before the final bill language

By the way, where did the $1,400 per person figure originate that is provided by this third stimulus program? In Dec 2020 the second stimulus program passed and was signed by Trump. It included a $600 per person check. He went on twitter and TV and complained that it should have been $2000 per person.

Congress accepted his suggestion and took his $2000 per person figure, subtracted the $600 paid in December 2020 and agreed to pay the difference of $1400 with this law. How quickly people forget or get brainwashed into forgetting.

never in their lives failed to pay their income taxes (unlike a number of IRS and other government employees, and that's certainly NOT a reflection on the many ethical retired government employees who live in our community, just a reference to the well publicized fact that a very high percentage of tax cheats work for the government compared to the population in general)
I tried to find any online statement supporting your "well publicized fact" and found none. Perhaps you'd like to come back and give a few links to that well publicized fact.

Scamming? Strong words, though irrelevant. The law is the law. Those who are receiving the checks are entitled per act of congress.
