Hi. I am looking for someone to raise the concrete in my lanai 2 inches so I can enclose the room myself. thanks kenny

How large is your lanai? It will probably be easier and cheaper to just pour a 2" thick cap on top of the old concrete.

I called someone from an add in the local paper about putting in a 12 by 12 patio and they said that would be $2000. I asked them don’t you need to come out and look at the spot and they said no we don’t need to. So then I did what the people in TV say to do and that is ask your neighbors who they use. I was told that Robey Concrete is who to call. They said Robey does a lot of work in TV and you can’t go wrong with them. I called Robey and they came out and looked at what I wanted and made some suggestions on how they could improve on what I wanted done. I like what they suggested and the bid was $800. The patio was near a Live Oak tree with lots of roots in the area. They cut and removed the roots and did a beautiful job. I have recommended Robey to other people and all the feed back on them has been 100% satisfaction. Give them a call 352-753-2462 I think you are going to like these guys.

Lanais have a sloped floor to allow for drainage, so if you are completely enclosing your lanai, you will probably want the floor to be level. Also, there may also be some concerns about the stress cuts. If you get a crack in the original slab, it will probably propagate to the new slab, but in an irregular pattern. I would get a few estimates on doing this, as you do not want to do it a second time.
