Default Anybody in the Villages build Work Benches?

Just throwing it out there

Looking for somebody in here Local who Mabey can build me a work bench for my Garage.

Since I just moved to moultrie creek from up north I no longer have a pickup to get wood, or have a Chop Saw or a Circ saw so can no longer build my own.

Just throwing it out there if someone does that kinda thing and could deliver it

Thanks

Might be easier to just buy one. Would love to have one but not enough room in our garage

Costco, Sam’s and Lowes have great combinations to fit any space. You view in store and They deliver from online orders,

Maybe you don't need a built-in. I have a 6' long, 2' wide workbench in my garage (Home Depot) that has room for 2 rollaround cart with tool drawers underneath. I've got a grinding wheel/polisher bolted to it, a belt/circ sander, and a small drill press on top.

Check out his nice looking workbench at Harbor Freight: Access to this page has been denied

I have this one in my man cave for do-it-in-the-cool projects.

Harbor Freight also has a kit version, I have one several years old still in good condition. I was able to modify this one to allow an old wood tool cabinet to be placed under this work bench.

I have two of these and they are STRONG. Mine came from Sam's several years back and are still great. Seville also has free shipping.

You can get wood from Lowe's and either have them deliver or rent their truck to haul it home yourself. I don't know for sure but am pretty confident that Home Depot offers much the same. IMO preferable as you'd get to design what you want according to what YOU need.

There are probably handymen in or around TV who would do it.

Built the below workbench and shelves for our Villages home garage with kits from 2X4 basics. Bought the kit from Amazon and had it delivered to the house. Picked up the wood from Lowel’s in my golf cart (Lowel’s cut the plywood to my requested sizes for the bench top and shelf). The only tools I needed was a hand saw to cut the two by fours and a cordless drill for the screws. Very easy project.

Look in the mirror. You can build it yourself ... WITHOUT power tools (who needs 'em anyway!).
It all depends on what kind of bench you want. A lot of good suggestions on kit built benches have already been posted. Depends on how you want to use a bench.

For me, a serious hand-tool woodworker, I built my own. ALL with hand tools. Yes it took a few trips to Lowes for lumber (they can deliver) and a lot of effort. The result was, a few weeks of enjoyable woodworking, losing about 5 pounds weight and gaining a lifetime workbench.

You should be able to find something that meets your needs from the suggestions already offered. Build your own ... without needing a whole shop full of noisy power tools.

Do you recall the dimensions on the lumber you used and tool dim of bench?

Go out to the Wood Working Shop, that would be a good way to find someone for sure!

With the 2x4 basics kit you can customize the bench size to your needs. I just put a tape measure on the pictured bench I built and the lumber used is as follows.

Two 6 foot by 2 foot pieces of 3/4 inch thick plywood.
Five 6 foot 2x4’s
Six 21 inch 2x4’s

The kit comes with all the screws needed for assembly, it could be done with just a Phillips screwdriver, but a cordless drill definitely helps. Best of luck.
