Default Garage Door problem is pestering me.

Both our garage door opener remotes seem to intermittently not work so I changed the batteries in both since I don't know the last time they had been changed. The next day both fail to open or close the garage door unless I'm inside the garage. If I try from outside both fail to operate the door. I went through all the troubleshooting literature I could find and nothing seems to work. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

We ended up replacing our remotes at about 7 years old....the ones in the golf cart. Perhaps too much exposure to the elements made the contacts/switch inconsistent. Remote in the car works fine. We have the MVP system and bought replacement remotes from Amazon.

Now here's the funny part. The remote will now work when we are about 25 feet from the garage. Go figure.

Our 4 remotes do exactly the same thing. Dead spots inside the garage and outside. They work best at 20-25' plus.

Maybe you have a neighbor who is a ham operator or some other kind of electronic interference that would be intermittent.

Thanks to all for the leads. It's just a process of elimination.
