I had to clean up the interior surface of a villa's front door. Suffice it to say it took some elbow grease, but now, even though the door looks clean it feels sticky to the touch. Other surfaces that were not dirty (and which I did not clean!) do not feel sticky, they feel smooth. Has anyone got suggestions on how to get rid of the sticky surface? Furniture polish? Wax? I just thought this might have happened to someone else before....

Thanks K-9. I have tried everything short of a fresh coat of paint. I fear painting would hide the faux wood grain texture. By the way, why did TV provide a Sherman Williams box of paint to new buyers when the paint is actually Color Wheel?

Did you use a cleaner that partially dissolved the resin the door is made with?? Maybe something with acetone or lacquer thinner ?

Instead of paint, put a new coat of polyurethane.

I had that problem and since it was under warranty, I called the Warranty people and they had someone come out and take care of it.
