Default Kitchen sink

I don't like the double sink in the kitchen. (Of course that's because I am so used to one big sink). Is it possible to change the sink to one large single sink? I am assuming that I have to keep the food disposal drain. What I would like to know, has anyone done this, changed from 2 sinks to one large one? How involved is this? Any advice would be helpful.

If you aren't changing out the counter-tops you will have to measure your space and find a comparable sized sink for that hole. So yes would be the answer.

Lowes carries a large sink that fits the standard double sink space. It is extremely large and fairly expensive to have installed.
