Default Removed window, replaced w FrenchDoors

We live in Buttonwood, and have an At Ease Cottage. While we have a lanai and bird cage, we discovered that the only sunny spot in the winter, is the back yard. We got permission to remove the rear kitchen window (in the breakfast nook) and replace the entire wall with French doors. (ones with built in blinds). Tomorrow "Edge Cement" will pour a small patio adjacent to the doors. What difference. I am sight impaired, and all that extra natural light is a bonus. The blinds can be closed to keep out the heat and sunshine when we don't want it.

Thanks for the pictures, Shrandall.. it looks very nice. May I ask who did the project for you? I've been wanting to do that in my bedroom for awhile but was wondering who to use for the job. You got permission from the Arch. Committee? Did they give you a hard time? Thank you for sharing.

Default French Doors At eaase

thank you for the compliments on my door project. We bought the doors from Lowes (a year to pay), and Johnny K - EZ DUZ IT 352 205 0906 did the work. He was VERY reasonable (under $1K) although slow. We applied to the planning dept personally and it was an easy process with no hassle. Johnny advised us what building supplies we would need, and he did the actual work, and cleaned up every day. If you have the same model home, I can email you a copy of the construction drawings required for the permit. Sandra
