My friend lives in a Corpus Christie in the village of Santo Domingo and she is having problems with her toilets. She's bought a pre-owned home with a one year home warranty. The plumber has come out twice, snakes the toilet and is gone. (15 MIN.) She wants to know where her sewer clean out is located? She thinking that the line needs to be snaked to see if there is a partially blockage, tree roots, etc................. Can anybody tell me where her sewer clean out is located?

I'm assuming 3' in front of the kitchen window since the master bathroom would line up with the kitchen. Is this a correct assumtion? Since the clean out opening is forward of kitchen (outside) does the plumber snake the toilet lines from the vent pipe on the roof? Thanks for your help!

No in front of the house he will open that plug and snake it, the fitting is made to go to the street or back to the house (both ways) never thru the vent that's only air

You may need to move some mulch around....on villas the cleanout is usually in the front, but on the larger homes it could be on either side. As jimbo said, look for a 4" white thread female adapter with a 4" threaded cap on it with a square "nut" on it. It is usually at or just above ground level.

There have been instances where construction debris or concrete has gotten into the lines.......just a quick cleaning out of the toilet trap is not enough. You may need the complete sewer line system for the home looked at with a "see snake" camera to make sure there are no obstructions.

Since you said it was a pre-owned it could also be tree roots, a collapsed line or a joint that was never properly glued, etc.....only a see snake will tell you for sure and give you peace of mind.

I have in rare cases found where the lead flashing on the roof vents were not folded over properly thus not allowing intake air to the system and hurting the flow. I have also seen plumbers snake a sewer line from a vent, but it is preferable to do it through the two way main cleanout.

Can you tell me what the deal with lead flashing on the roof vents piping in FL? In VA they run either the old cast iron or new pvc up to the roof for vent pipe. I know codes are different but you rarely see anything in lead. In VA, most of the time all clean outs have a "Y" for clean out. The "Y" is in the direction of sewer flow. The other option is a straight clean out in the back of the house and everything is tie to the main line. If the clean out is down steam of the toilet (front) then the plumber snakes the toilet from the roof vent because of the "Y". I'm personally not familiar with a "T" down stream and you snake backward toward the toilet.
We are thinking that the old toilets in the home has calcium build up in the toilet. Does the Villages have problems with calcium buildup? Thanks for the help!
