The "shine" from Pledge (and all of it's ilk) is from silicone. Might be ok on a laminate counter top .... but anyone that uses it on furniture should be caned.

BTW .... I do not know if counter magic works or it's contents ... I just hate pledge like products used on furniture ... sorry for the slight thread highjack.
