Attaching a bed headboard

Default Attaching a bed headboard

I need to drive a a screw into the wall to attached the headboard cleat.

The wall is an exterior wall.

concrete block , then foam board( which is set in-between wood sleepers.)

Question is how long of a tap screw is needed.

your home has 1" strip of wood attached to the block every 18",
might need to get a stud finder to point out the wood strip,
and 1/2" dry wall=
1 1/2" screw will work great,
do not drill into the block

How was the 1" wood strip attached to the block?
