Default Window removal

I've searched the forums and haven't found any dealing with removing a window panel (if that's what it's called) from the window frame. I have a double hung window in a CYV and I can remove the lower panel easily but I don't see the best way to remove the upper or fixed panel. Anyone have any experience doing this? I don't want to remove the frame itself, just the two glass panels.

Call home warranty and ask who installed your windows. Then give the insaller a call..............maybe problem solved?

Don't exactly know your window. Most window panes I have dealt with are either held in with dried glaze you carefully chip out and bend up pins or some type of wood you carefully pry out.

Assuming you are talking about the upper sash, remove the lower sash. Remove the sash balance. Remove the screw and clip at the top of each side channel.Slide the sash down and out.

Thanks mulligan, After "carefully" removing every screw in sight I found the upper sash will come out as you describe. Now to put it back in!

It seems we bought a sleeper sofa that will fit perfectly in the room, but it will not make the two 90 degree turns necessary to get into the room. So, through the window is straight in with no required twists and turns.
