In one word, SHAMEFUL !

After reopening in March from being closed for a “complete renovation” (including the greens), it is beyond comprehension as to how this course has been allowed to deteriorate to the point where it should be closed again!

Most of greens were a disaster and the very few “good ones” were not much better. I’ll let the images speak for themselves.

The fairways on the two par 4’s are in poor condition.

On a positive note, the bunkers and tee boxes were in good shape.

There are many, many other courses that are in good shape so I would suggest that you take a pass on this one.

Overall, the course gets a generous C - rating.

Believable. It will be one of many that will closed and require a complete "renovation" after high season.

Agree, absolutely shameful. We played there last week, and based on the greens, I couldn’t believe the course recently went through a complete renovation. The same could be said for Chula Vista, Mira Mesa, Hill Top, and Silver Lake, which were also all completely renovated. Hopefully both El Diablo and El Santiago aren’t being renovated by the same contractor. Whoever did the renovation’s, and is responsible for ongoing maintenance, should be fired immediately and replaced with a responsible contractor. Playing these greens absolutely ruins my putting feel when playing the Championship courses. On a positive note, the greens at Churchill Greens were halfway decent a couple days ago.

I'm curious as to what type of fill they are using when redoing the greens. It seems weeds and those fungus spores keep repeating themselves.

I'm glad to be playing golf. The rough greens and tee boxes don't hurt my game.

From Gerald Ford on accuracy ("I am hitting fewer spectators") to Mickey Mantle on cart strategy ("he who has the fastest golf cart never has to play the bad lie"), the tee box brings out the best quotes.

I agree with the above comments.

I too am grateful to be out there enjoying the ability to play anywhere and any day of if I so choose.

With the vast choices of executive courses available, surely there are a few to meet anyone’s needs.

I live south by the Turnpike and one of my golfing buddies lives in the northern part of The Villages so that gives us the ability to play anywhere without worrying about having a golf cart available. 😎

However, it does sadden me to see these conditions when the course was just recently completely redone …

These courses are inspected daily to determine if any course restrictions are needed for the day. It seems to me that a problem(s) such as seen in the images can be treated early so that they don’t blow up to the point of no return.

When are you going to review Bonita Pass? It’s newly renovated.
